TourConnect AI Adds New DMC Clients Across Africa and Latin America
Since the start of 2026 we’ve signed a number of new Destination Management Company (DMC) clients to Itinerary Assist AI across Africa and Latin America, including Eurotur, Colombian Journeys, Salty Travel, and Amazing Africa.
These partnerships reflect a pattern we’re seeing more frequently in conversations with DMC leaders: growing pressure to respond faster to enquiries and modernise itinerary creation whilst building on the strengths of their teams current workflow and core tech stack.
The operational reality DMCs are navigating
For many DMCs, itinerary creation remains one of the most time-intensive and repetitive parts of the quoting process. Enquiries arrive via email, often with attachments, partial briefs, or evolving requirements. Turning that information into a structured, accurate itinerary typically involves multiple manual steps across systems.
At the same time, response-time expectations are tightening and operational costs continue to rise. For experienced teams, this combination is making manual itinerary creation increasingly difficult to sustain - particularly during peak periods or when adding new destinations.
New clients embedding AI within their operations process
Why workflow-embedded AI matters
One of the main reasons new clients are adopting Itinerary Assist AI is its ability to embed directly into existing consultant workflows.
Instead of introducing a standalone tool or forcing teams to change how they work, Itinerary Assist allows consultants to build structured itineraries directly from incoming enquiry emails and attachments. By removing copy-and-paste steps and manual interpretation, teams can work faster while keeping control over quality, structure, and presentation.
As Lucy Berndt, COO and Managing Director at Salty Travel, shared with us:
“We chose TourConnect AI to help us respond faster, reduce manual workload, and seamlessly connect our systems — allowing our team to focus more on creating exceptional itineraries and less on administration.”
From curiosity to commitment
We’re also seeing a broader shift in how DMCs think about AI.
As Mirjam Meyer, Managing Owner at Amazing Africa, put it:
“AI is nothing one can escape from – and Itinerary Assist looks like it will make our lives easier. We are excited to grow with the tool.”
This mirrors many of the conversations we’re having. AI is no longer being viewed as an experiment, but as an operational capability that needs to be introduced carefully, reliably, and in a way that supports experienced teams rather than replacing them.
Making it easier for DMCs to integrate AI
A common concern we hear is the risk of replacing core systems. Recent technical and operational upgrades mean Itinerary Assist AI is available to DMCs not just using Tourplan, but to Hero and in fact any proprietary CRM or reservation system.
This major update allows a lot more DMC teams to adopt AI-assisted itinerary creation without replacing their existing technology stack. It removes a major barrier to making adoption of Itinerary Assist more practical.
Moving into daily operations
We continue to invest heavily in product development, with recent enhancements focused on conversational AI, improved accuracy across itinerary types, and deeper system integrations. Adoption has expanded steadily across multiple regions as DMCs move AI from experimentation into daily use.
We’ve also worked hard to streamline our own onboarding and setup protocols, cutting the time taken for DMC operations teams to feel comfortable with using AI everyday.
For us, these new client partnerships aren’t just announcements. They’re a signal that more DMCs are looking for practical ways to reduce operational strain, improve response times, and scale their businesses, all while maintaining the quality and personal service their premium FIT clients expect.
