This version introduces a powerful new way to work — one that’s conversational, intuitive, and even more capable. All whilst DMC staff retain final control. Every change is logged and can be audited if needs be.
A Smarter, More Natural Way to Build Itineraries
Our most significant upgrade yet brings a new Chat interface that lets DMC teams interact with AI as naturally as they would with a colleague. Whether a quote request arrives with only a few vague details — “3 nights in Tokyo for 2 adults in April” — or with a detailed, multi-day plan, the AI can now build and refine itineraries through simple, back-and-forth conversation.
The process feels familiar — much like using ChatGPT or any other AI chat tool — but purpose-built for the travel industry. Behind the scenes, the system continues to draw from your own inventory, templates, live pricing, and rules, so every itinerary remains accurate and on-brand.

We designed this release around the real workflows of operations teams. For DMCs managing high volumes of agent requests, limited trip details, and complex supplier mixes, the new Chat flow makes it possible to produce quality itineraries in a fraction of the time — without jumping between systems.

Conversational Chat Flow
The biggest change is the introduction of conversational editing. You can now type requests like:
“Shift this trip to August and replace the city tour with an art-focused option.”
“Add boutique hotel choices instead of chain hotels.”
The AI responds intelligently, making adjustments instantly and regenerating a complete, accurate itinerary — all from within the TourConnect AI add-in within your Inbox.
Build From Scratch
Itinerary Assist AI can now handle quote requests of any type. Even if an agent provides little more than a destination, date range, and number of travellers, the AI can generate a detailed itinerary with pricing and availability, ready for review.
Leverages Past Success
The system learns from your templates and past high-performing itineraries, using them as quality benchmarks. That means your most successful itineraries help inform new drafts, improving both speed and consistency.
Conversational User Interface
A refined layout now separates your inputs (emails, attachments, and chats) from the AI’s generated content, making it easier to review, adjust, and approve each version.
Itinerary editing with Chat
In this example, a DMC trip planner asks AI to add a room for a new passenger to an itinerary.
AI successfully checks availability and pricing in inventory showing within the DMCs Tourplan or Hero booking system, adds the relevant room to the itinerary and associates the new room to the new traveller.
Itinerary Assist AI communicates throughout the process to keep the DMC operations staff in the loop as it completes the task.
How the New Chat Feature Works
The Chat feature is designed to feel like a conversation — one where your AI assistant already understands the context of your itinerary.
You can now:
Add details directly: Type new information or paste an agent email into Chat to update itineraries.
Refine itineraries: Ask for changes to travel dates, passenger numbers, or inclusions.
Ask questions: “What’s the weather in Rome in April?” or “Do all nights have accommodation?”
Combine inputs: Choose which emails, attachments, and chats should guide the next version.
Regenerate itineraries: Click send to instantly produce the next draft.
Manual creation remains available too — simply use “Create New Itinerary” to start from scratch when needed.
For larger edits, like changing travel months or adding entire sections, Chat is the fastest option. For small one-line changes, you can still make direct edits via the existing add-in interface.
Chat also supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian, making collaboration easier for global teams.
